Here's the story
Kids' discs have Hoosier connections
There's a great story to tell about the nationally
released DVD series "StoryWatchers Club: Adventures in
Storytelling."
Hoosier prints are all over the two newest
installments: "Keys to Imagination" and "Good Character" ($19.95
each).
Richmond-based Sax Media Group produced the discs,
which bring together a collection of talented national storytellers to
impart to children the importance of developing their imaginations.
The series was filmed at Noblesville's WHMB-TV
(Channel 40) studios.
An audience of second- and third-graders witnessed the
storytellers. Two classes were at each filming, including those from
Hinkle Creek Elementary School in Noblesville and the Indianapolis schools
of St. Lawrence, Park Tudor and Horizon Christian.
State connections among the storytellers were
Charlotte A. Battin of Columbus and Bob and Kathie Myers (known as the
Story Peddlers) of Elkhart.
"Young storytellers will learn that they don't need
high-tech products, hyped-up graphics or highly licensed characters," said
Eddie Sax, who, with wife Charlotte produced and created the
DVDs. Call Star reporter Steve Slosarek at (317)
